01. (a) “You cannot motivate managers. They are self-propelled. You just get out of their way if you really want performance.” Comment.                                                                               
      (b) What are Theory X and Theory Y assumptions? State your reasons for agreeing or disagreeing with these assumptions.
      (c) Who had developed the Hierarchy of Needs? What is the shape of it? Why?
      (d) Who had developed the OB Modification? Exhibit and explain the four alternative consequences of OB Modification.                                                                                                                                    
      (e) List some general guidelines for applying behavior modification.

02. (a) Think of an organisational change that you have experienced. Was there any resistance to change? Discuss in your own words.                                                                               
      (b) Define OD. Exhibit and explain different variables in the OD Approach.
      (c) OD is a complex process. Design and implementation may take a year or more, and the process may continue indefinitely. Do you agree with this statement? Explain
      (d) Review the benefits and limitations of OD. Do you think the benefits outweigh the costs? Give reasons for your selection.                                                                                                                                      
      (e) Resistance to change is often viewed negatively. Discuss some possible benefits of resistance to change in an organization.

02. (a) Who has/have developed the modern conceptLearning Organisation’? “Learning Organisations are also characterised by a number of Human-oriented cultural values”. What are those?           
     (b) Mr. Senge summarizes the differences between learning organisations and traditional organisations in his research article “Transforming the Practice of Management”. Summarize those distinctions in a table.
     (c) What is Virtual Organisation? Briefly summarise the key attributes of the virtual organisation.

03. (a) Who is given credit for developing some of the guiding principles that define Horizontal Organisation design? Summarise those principles.
     (b) What do you know about the Network Design? Miles and Colleagues identified three types of radical redesign of today’s organisations. Describe those types.
     (c) Define culture & organisational culture. How organisational cultures start? 

04. (a) Think of an organisation you are familiar with. What types of power are used there? What changes would you recommend?
     (b) Conflict arises from many sources and directions. Managers must know when to stimulate conflict and when to resolve it. Define conflict and explain its resolution strategies.
     (c) “Almost every working relationship will produce some degree of conflict across time.” Considering this statement explain the sources of interpersonal conflict.

05. (a) What do you mean by Leadership? Is/are there any difference(s) between a Leader and a Manager?
     (b) Which tool of leadership is quite popular among managers for identifying their styles? Exhibit and explain that tool in brief.
     (c) Vroom‘s Decision-Making Model assumes that managers have the flexibility to shift from one style to another. Summarise this model.
